It starts today! It’s the first national celebration of reading in Scotland and we’re celebrating here in Leith Library with a whole host of exciting events.
We’re be leaving the library too, we’re coming to talk to you!
We’ll be sharing audio, videos and photos of the people of Leith talking about the books they love. We’ll be posting content live to twitter and facebook. We’ll also blog the highlights here.

- Knit Your Own Scotland Challenge begins
We’re challenging the Leith Library knitting group to knit Loch Ness monsters, highland Cew and Tunnocks teacakes thanks to Black and White Publishing House.

Join us on Saturday 1st December at 3.30pm – 4.30pm for readings from local writers about:
- Leith in the early 1900s from Best Selling Author Millie Gray
- Leith in 1974 from My Favourite Place competition winner Marianne Paget
- Growing up in Leith in the sixties with Marianne Wheelaghan
